ABOUT THE CHAMBER

History

The Black Chamber of Commerce of Illinois was established in 2015 by Mr. Anthony Corey Walker to create an organization that supported all minority businesses throughout the state of Illinois. As a second generation business owner from Decatur, IL, Mr. Walker saw a need for statewide support for small business owners and entrepreneurs ranging from the local mom and pop restaurants, clothing and apparel stores, technology and data systems companies to construction businesses seeking statewide opportunity. Through many meetings, lobbying at the state capital to developing relationships throughout the state of Illinois, The Black Chamber of Commerce of Illinois is on a fast-pace to building the largest and most impactful organization for blacks in the state. BCCI’s aim is to “Help Black Businesses Thrive and build capacity.”

Our Mission

The mission of BCCI is to develop, educate, economically empower, sustain and promote African–American businesses by advocating for economic development through business legislative policies, entrepreneurship, procurement, community reinvestment, programmatic/professional development, and capitalistic activity within the State of Illinois.
